Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Mistri (the “Service”), a marketplace that connects customers in Pakistan with verified home and auto service Mistris. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use Mistri

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Pakistani law.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • One person, one account. Sharing accounts is not allowed.

2. How the marketplace works

Mistri is a platform that introduces customers to independent service Mistris. We are not a party to the agreement between a customer and a Mistri. We do not employ Mistris, and Mistris operate as independent contractors.

  • Customers browse Mistris, request bookings, and arrange the scope, schedule, and price directly with the Mistri.
  • Mistris list their services, accept or decline requests, and deliver the work they have committed to.
  • Mistri verifies Mistri identity (CNIC, phone, and where applicable police clearance) before approving listings. Verification reduces risk but is not a guarantee of work quality.

3. Information shared during booking

To complete a booking, certain personal information is shared between the customer and the Mistri. By creating a booking, you consent to the following sharing:

  • Customer → Mistri: your name, contact number (and a WhatsApp deep link in Phase 1), the service address, the time you have requested, and any notes you choose to include.
  • Mistri → Customer:the Mistri’s public profile, including name, photo, services, price ranges, ratings, reviews, and WhatsApp number for direct contact.

This sharing is the minimum needed for a service to happen. You can review the full details in our Privacy Policy. If you do not want this information shared, do not create a booking.

4. Mistri obligations

  • Provide accurate identity documents and consent to verification, including CNIC review and (where applicable) police clearance.
  • Honour bookings you accept, arrive on time, and deliver the agreed work.
  • Quote prices honestly and in PKR. Do not switch the price after a booking is confirmed without the customer’s agreement.
  • Maintain professional conduct. Harassment, discrimination, and unsafe behaviour are grounds for permanent removal.
  • Comply with applicable Pakistani laws, including tax and labour obligations.
  • Do not collect, store, or contact customer data for any purpose other than completing the booking on Mistri.

5. Customer obligations

  • Provide accurate information when requesting a booking, including the service address and any safety-relevant details.
  • Be present (or have an authorised person present) at the scheduled time.
  • Pay the agreed price after the work is completed to your reasonable satisfaction.
  • Treat Mistris respectfully. Harassment or abuse is grounds for account suspension.
  • Use the rating and review system honestly. Reviews must reflect your real experience.

6. Pricing and payments

  • Prices are displayed in Pakistani Rupees (PKR) and are set by Mistris.
  • In the current MVP, payments are made directly between customer and Mistri (cash on completion, JazzCash, or EasyPaisa as the Mistri accepts).
  • When in-app payments become available (Safepay), additional terms specific to processing, refunds, and chargebacks will apply, and you will be notified before they take effect.
  • Mistri does not charge customers a booking fee in the MVP. Any future fees will be disclosed clearly before they apply.

7. Cancellations and disputes

  • Either party may cancel a booking before it is in progress. Repeated late cancellations may lead to account suspension.
  • If work is incomplete or unsatisfactory, first try to resolve it directly with the Mistri. If that fails, email us at support@mistri.pk. We mediate in good faith but are not legally responsible for the outcome of the service.
  • Reviews are intended to capture honest experience. We may remove reviews that contain abuse, false claims, or personal data.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal, fraudulent, or harmful.
  • Impersonate another person or business, or misrepresent your qualifications.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish Mistri content without permission.
  • Attempt to bypass verification, security, rate limits, or other technical controls.
  • Use Mistri to advertise services or solicit users outside of normal listings and bookings.
  • Upload malware, spam, hate speech, sexually explicit material, or anything that violates the rights of others.

9. Content and intellectual property

  • You retain ownership of the content you upload (profile photos, work gallery, reviews).
  • By uploading content, you grant Mistri a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it within the Service for the purpose of operating the platform.
  • Mistri’s name, logo, design, and code are owned by Mistri and may not be used without permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work hard to verify Mistris and keep the platform reliable, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, or any particular outcome from a booking. Mistri is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of services performed by Mistris.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mistri, its founders, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to PKR 5,000.

12. Suspension and termination

  • You may close your account at any time from your profile settings or by emailing us.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or harm users.
  • On termination, certain provisions (privacy, content licence, liability limits, dispute resolution) survive.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Faisalabad, Punjab, unless another forum is required by mandatory law.
